8th Svetislav Stančić International Piano Competition will be held in Zagreb, Croatia, from 20th – 25th February 2026 in the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall.

The Competition is opened to all candidates up to 35 years of age (born ater 1th Januray 1990).

Start of online Application - September 15th, 2025.

The Competition consists of four Rounds:

  1. Online Pre-Selection Round: Recital (max 20 minutes)
  2. First Round - Recital 1 ( max 30 minutes)
  3. Semifinal Round – Recital 2 (max 55 minutes)
  4. Final Round: Piano Concerto with the Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra

Deadline for submitting Video Data and Application Form is October, 30th 2025.

Within three days upon the online Application candidates will receive link for uploading Video Data.

Pre-Selection results shall be sent to the candidates by November, 15th 2025.

The application form is available from Friday 19th September 2025 to Friday 31st October 2025

Please enclose along with the application form:

a) a copy of the Applicant’s official documents proving the Applicant’s age, such as a passport or ID card

b) a short curriculum vitae with the description of their professional career (education, teachers, titles obtained, professional activities)

c) photograph or high quality image data of the Applicant, taken within six months of the date of application. Photograph must be high quality, of 700 x 1,000 pixels or higher. Photograph must be free of copyright. Photographs will be used in official programs, on the competition’s official website, and for other public relations purposes

d) entry fee of 100 EUR must be paid by PayPal at the time of online application, or it must be paid into the bank account by bank transfer:

All bank charges shall be borne by the Applicant.
The entry fee is not refundable for any reason.

e) Uploading of video data containing the Applicant’s performance of the repertoire pieces for the pre–selection stage. Acceptable file formats are MPEG–2, MOV, AVI, MP4 and AVCHD only. An automatic audio volume control function of the video camera (AGC,
ALC, etc.) may not be used. Acceptable video file resolution is 720p or 1080p;
The Applicant must upload the video data of his or her performance of all pieces listed for preselection (a and b).
The following information shall be included in the filename: thenApplicant’s name in full and the full titles of the chosen pieces. (NO additional information such as name of accompanist, date/place of recording, etc. shall be included in the filename).
All pieces of the Applicant’s choice from the above repertoire must be recorded on the same day, at the same venue.
The video data must be unedited, taken from the same camera angle throughout and must clearly show the Applicant’s hands and face.
The video data may be excluded from judgment if it is perceived that the hand movement of the Applicant during his or her performance does not synchronize with the sound.
The video data must NOT contain, in image or in sound, the name of the Applicant.

Pre-Selection results shall be sent to the candidates by 15 November 2025.

Any incorrect information in the Application will result in disqualification od the Competitor.

Changes in the programme stated in the Application will not be permitted.

All Rounds has to be performed by memory.

Daily practice, as well as rehearsal in the competition hall, will be provided for all candidates.

Three finalists will have two rehearsals with the Symphony Orchestra for the Finale Round.

EPTA Croatia reserves all rights for Radio and TV broadcasts during all Rounda of the Competition without any compensation to the competitors.

The Jury reserves the right to interrupt any Competitor whose programme exceeds the agreed duration.

Performances in the Firstl Round will start with letter drawn by lot. The order of appearance in Final Round is determined by the Jury.

All Competitors have to contact the Competition Office on 19 February 2026 in person submitting valid documentation, including passports.

The jury will choose no more than 24 Competitors for the First Round, 12 candidates for the Semifinal Round and 3 Competitors for the Final Round.

All Competitors will be presented with Certificate of Participitation.

Possible complaints against Jury decision will not be taken into consideration.

By submitting the Application, Competitors accept all conditions and decisions of the Competition.

I case of any ambiguities caused by translation, the Croatian text of the regulations is considered authoritative.
